PUNAKHA WINTER TREK

For most Bhutanese, this is a trip down memory lane. This trail was probably the most frequented as it connected Thimphu and Punakha – two most important centers of power – in the olden days. However, the beauty remains in that the trail weaves through villages, farms, meadows, forests, temples, etc – one after the other. There is not much to climb and, undertaken at the right season, the weather is superb. Expect to see endless fields of rice, corn, local people, and wonderful campsites and scenery to boot.
